Long before Adventure Time, there was Teratoid Heights. Matt Brinkman created this primordial fantasy world in the late 1990s when he was part of the influential Paper Radio Zine, in Providence, Rhode Island. This is the true underground Y2K style no one told you about that would sweep over comics, cartoons and art in the coming years of this century. This book isn't just a museum reedition of the original from 2001 that is valuable as an artifact of its time. It's a great book in itself that shows what great cartooning is when it's done just for the pleasure of making, without the intention of pleasing or appealing to anyone, or as a means to an end, but as a powerful medium for storytelling that stands on its own, with a narrative that could not be told in any other format.

Mat Brinkman was part of the influential zine Paper Rodeo as well as a co-founder of the collective Fort Thunder in the 1990s in Providence, Rhode Island.
