How's it going?! Last month I started learning about tarot, I'm reading this amazing book about the history and symbolism behind it that I highly recommend for anyone interested: The Tarot: History, Symbolism, and Divination by Robert M. Place. What I find most fascinating about esoteric knowledge is that they're cultural artifacts developed over hundreds, or even thousands of years, and through learning them you can learn a lot about how the development of humanity as well. I'm planning to start a project related to the tarot next year, so I'll be talking more about that soon...

I feel like the most esoteric thing happening right now is AI... the way some people think it's some kind of superior power is almost magical... But the ones giving it power are them by believing in it. This latest turn of ex-employees and the companies themselves talking about how dangerous the technology is has been, in my opinion, all a show. They're losing billions with the development of data centers and this technology so they want us to believe it's more powerful than it actually is so that they can get our attention (even if it's negative) and with that, more money from investors. Same with them saying the AI "may be conscious"... yeah right, a plant is more conscious than all AI agents together just by virtue of being ALIVE! And the CEOs pushing for more AI regulation are actually just trying to legalize themselves owning the AI monopoly so they can push out any competitors and so that no one else can DIY their own AI at home. The most absurd thing is, it doesn't have to be this way, just look at how China is doing AI, they're more focused on figuring out how to make it less polluting and to use more renewable energy, but I guess that could never happen in the US where the only priority are profits. In any case, I'm convinced AI is overhyped in it's functionality, and actually, underestimated in its real dangers, which are to me, taking people's jobs and turning them into useless zombies... and in the most vulnerable cases, into mental cases from developing AI induced psychosis (yes, that's a real thing, just google it if you're feeling spooky...)
