I've been following the current US events regarding international mail closely but the Mexican government and postal service have yet to make any official announcement on it, and there’s nothing on the news here about it either, which just adds to the confusion of an already very unclear situation. I had to find out on August 23 that Mex Post was rejecting US packages without explanation thanks to my fellow citizens, who were complaining on Twitter and tagging Mex Post without receiving any response other than from an automated bot. Somehow the order has already been given that our postal service should take the same stance as the rest of the world and suspend US shipments… And just on August 22 I went to the post office to mail out packages without any problems! The postal workers even looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them if there weren’t any issues with packages going to the US...
We go to our local post office every week, so we'll keep inquiring and update you as soon as we're able to ship to the US again. I’m personally very optimistic about this and I believe it's just a matter of waiting for the USPS and US customs to make it clear how things should proceed from now on. I think the reason why Mexico and other countries are suspending their US service is just as a preemptive measure to avoid being overloaded by returned packages missing some unknown new paperwork or just from people who don’t want to pay the new tariffs. Note that these are just my unfounded speculations, but I find it all so absurd that it makes no sense to me that something like this could last any longer than a month!
If you have any questions about your order, let me know and I'll do my best to help you! For those of you waiting on your Alienation preorders, I'm thinking that if worse comes to worst I can figure out some arrangement with Floating World Comics so that they ship out your books from Portland, Oregon ♡ –Inés
